She starts out white, but it's very hard to find a pure white one!  Most are tan from aging

I think she mostly gets tanned from sunfading and from what I've read on here she burns bad!

Is she more prone to tanning than other white ponies? I've hardly ever seen a properly white one.

I bought mine new back in the 80's and she is still white

That is one gorgeous pony!

I think she mostly gets tanned from sunfading and from what I've read on here she burns bad!
So she can't be sunfaded back to white then?

From what I've understood, it might be her scent that makes her prone to turning tan.
The scent is mixed into the plastic itself I believe, but it is prone to turning it tan when it ages.

Nope Cherry Treats to long in sun look like she just come back off holiday @Fox

I don't know if the scent specifically makes her tan, the sweetberry set are all scented and the only one I've heard serious problems fading with is Cherry. Although I recall someone saying Raspberry Jam wasn't good at sunfading but that was relating to her colour as she was mentioned along with a few other purples.

I'm just going on what I recall from previous threads, I've never tried to sunfade a pony, I'm too scared of destroying it. I'm not a massively fussy collector, I can deal with tail rust, happy to wash and acetone off marks that can be removed but I'm a wimp when it comes to the sun. And being non too fussy I don't mind a pony with a few little pen marks just no pink highlighter noooooooooo.

Yes white :) But it tends to look a little off white rather than the startling white that a G3 pony can be :)

*sigh*. She's supposed to be white but she's near impossible to find white.

Mine was white but she's slowly going cream.

All the ones I've found have been a murky cream color. I envy anyone who has a bright white one.

I think Confetti is another white pony who can have the same kind of yellowing issue, so I don't know if it's so much the scent.

I think it's  more the conditions the pony are stored in as well as the quality of the plastic. Some ponies, even though it's the same pony can hold up better over time. For whatever reason I think Cherry Treats is one of those ponies that if she's shoved in a box in a attic or garage in poor temperature conditions she will fade. Plus most ponies would have been played with by kids so the conditions and the treatment of them was probably not exactly optimal.

I just happen to have the lucky accident of being older than most girls when I got into MLP, I was probably around 11 when I started buying MLP and a lot of my ponies were never abused or never went into bad storage conditions.

She still has her scene but it's faint, not as strong as it used to be. When I first moved them into this room I could come into the room if the doors been closed and I'll notice the scented ponies but I don't really notice it all that much any more. I'm sure someone who's never been in here would notice it long before I would because I'm kinda immune after all these years.

Probably doesn't own a stolen piece of the Taj Mahal.
