Celebrating 29 years of Pony Ownership today

My first My Little Pony Bow Tie is 29 years old today, bless her! 

I thought I would treat her to a spa day away from her kids and fella  .  Her tail was a little frizzy from 27 years in plaits and her mane a bit dry (she got played with a LOT!)  She got a nice wash all over, then I used Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends with Raspberry and Silk extracts shampoo, then left her for a few hours with Beautiful Ends intensive conditioner.  Her hair is really soft and silky now and she smells divine! 

Here she is at the Grooming Parlour after having her hair styled, not bad for 29 eh?

Now she has her party frock on and she's off out with her best mate Applejack on a girls night out.

Thanks so much everyone.

She is very special to me and was determined to keep hold of her.  I've also got her original brush, ribbon and sticker and it's still faintly scented too, that smell takes me back to a happy time. 

I remember the day I got her very clearly.    It was a Saturday and I was going to visit Grandad in hospital with Gran and Mum in the afternoon.  We went shopping in Edinburgh city centre first and ended up downstairs in John Menzies toy department, the shop is long gone now though.  The display right in front of the stairs was full of a new toy called My Little Pony and I thought they were lovely. Gran said I could pick one to take and show Grandad, it just had to be the blue one seeing as it was my favourite colour. 

There began my lifetime love of MLP.    She's also a lovely reminder of my grandparents who are sadly no longer here.
