The arena gave me some luck only a few weeks ago when I found a vintage toy collector through Craigslist with a bin of ponies for $1 each. Mostly G3 and McDs but i found three G1s including AJ and Stockings and 5 Breezies

He finds them at yard sales, he said and the G1s were just pretty dirty. Let us know what you find!

Next weekend I will be at Philly Comic Con so I am really hoping to find sone G1s! Last year there was a vendor who had bunch of G1s. Also on the schedule, a flea market June 9, lol.

I have not had any pony luck at all yet. I was able to get a few back when I was a kid at a rummage sale. But other then that I have not had any luck at all. I hope they are something good

Good luck! All of these stories have encouraged me to go charity shop shopping soon, I haven't found any ponies this way before but I also haven't been very much recently. So that's my plan

Ooo, definite good pony luck to you!  I don't always find good stuff at my local thrift - but I have had some... the very first time I went looking for ponies, I found SS Satin'n'Lace and SS Truly (both grubby, now happily deflocked), plus the chassis for a Baby Buggy (now complete except for the lacy ruffles ).  I've not been *quite* so lucky there since, but it does provide me with a steady stream of common G1s and G3s.

As for my own, a few years ago people here were discussing Craigslist, so I got curious to check and see if any ponies were available locally... and someone was selling a lot of G1s for $75.   The lot turned out even better than I had hoped, there were three Tux n Tails, a Euro Princess Sparkle, a near mint SS Lofty, one of the little babies from the Euro Surprise Twins Pony, plus a bunch more ponies, oodles of pony wear pieces, Dream Castle accessories, stickers, and several pieces of merchandise.   

And if that wasn't enough, about a week or so later I walked into Value Village to find the toy wall nearly covered in G1s!   There were so many, I had to leave some behind.

Thanks for the stories everyone! I'm a little anxious waiting; this isn't so much a "low prices to help the needy" thrift store as it is a "30-40 dollar knick-nacks and whatnots" store... I'm hoping she doesn't want 20 dollars a pony or something! Is it Tuesday yet?

I popped in today before work (just barely got clocked in one time!) and asked about ponies... They said the woman I talked to last weekend hasn't gotten them out yet and it'll be over a week. I'll check in next weekend and see if I get anything good. (The longer I wait, the more Mimics I get, right?)

I have not been yet at thrift stores in my area, I do not even know where they are LOL
but I think I had some luck before at  Tuesday morning, Ross and Palais Royal
the ponies i get to find there are usually 50 % or 40 % off
today I posted a brag about finding a target exclusive with the mane 6 and spike, they were 35 regular before at Target ,Ross had it for 17.88 .
Tuesday morning had the Princess Luna and Celestia Double pack also from Target at 16.99 and I got 2 , one to keep and one for niece ,she loved the set
and also that is where i found my first ponies, the riding along Fluttershy and TS for 4.99 ,they were 7.99 regular .
Walmart luck last week too, the Motion Ponies G4 were at 6 down from 9.90 ,and only that store had them reduced ,the rest are all still at the reg price
Palais Royal had the wedding sets ,the wedding fillies and the Celestia/spike/TS  for 8.99
down from 14.99 reg price
