So far I like the Disney Store/D23 versions of the Frozen dolls that I've seen in this thread better than the Mattel version (I've only seen Anna so far. Her blouse was painted on. :(  )

I should add more pictures of my Disney dolls to this thread. :) Does anyone else have costumes of your favorite princess?  I have a child's size Ariel costume. :)

Ponyfan

When I was little, I had an Ariel dress with a tiara and wand as well as a dress that looked almost identical to Mulan's :)

When did the Disney Store start making dolls? I know I've seen some from the early 2000's but I wasn't sure if there were some that dated further back than that.

I'm not sure when the Disney Store started making dolls either.

Since I can't buy myself any mugs because I'm in a mug swap, I'm going to use my $10 off coupon from pre-ordering TLM, that was originally going to be used on mugs, on the Anna doll. I can't wait to get her! :inlove:

I posted my collection of those dolls way back on page two. That Musical Princess Sleeping Beauty was my first ever doll as a child. They are gorgeous aren't they?

My collection has expanded since then!

I'm not actually sure how far back Disney Store dolls go. This kind of becomes a 3 part question. 1)How old the Disney Stores in your local area are (basing off memory and products). The closest Disney Store to me is one of the oldest in my area. Even though it is an old one, the thing is, as a kid we rarely went to the mall. The oldest doll that I have that was bought from a Disney Store I believe is Mary Poppins. She is not with me at the moment (moved, so packed safely in storage at my parents) but I did a quick Google search and found her being labeled as 1993.  2) The next part of that question is manufacturer. At different times, the dolls have gone from being made by Mattel to being the Disney Store brand or "Theme Park" brand. Mary Poppins for example is made by Mattel, but I 100% know that she was bought at the Disney Store. 3)Where the dolls were available. At different times they have had "Disney Store only" dolls, "Theme Park" dolls and if memory serves me correct "general" dolls that were also available in normal stores like Toys R Us.

UGH. To spend the money on tonight's LE Ursula, or not to? I CANNOT DECIDE. It doesn't help that Disney has done hardly any promotion, so I barely know what she looooks like. :\

Wow, thanks for the great detail pics, Bow Tie! You're better at this than the official Disney blog! XD I love her from the waist up, but I'm just not happy with how bunched up her tentacles are. I'm sure she's designed this way so she'll fit better in the rectangular box, but still. I fret. I feel like somehow her 12" doll is managing this problem better.

Is it sad that I'm like, upset that I'm not totally in love with LE Ursula and Designer Beast? I WANT to want them more than I do. I love the characters soooo much! I should just be happy about potentially saving money, but nooo. I'm mostly just worried that I'll change my mind after they're already sold out!

So this post isn't ALL whining, I did just get this plush Ursula at Target (on sale for $5!), and she is just awesome. (Not my photo!)
