Do they really have as much space around their eyes as it looks?  It seems like their eyes are sinking in or are too small for the socket?

The thing that holds their eyes in is TERRIBLE. When my Suishou still had it in, he was always looking down and looked very evil/angry all the time. Or his eyes would look up too much, and then sink back to facing down. Once I removed that and just used eye putty, the change was amazing. He actually looks where I want him to, and his eyes finally catch the light (but the stock eyes are awful, he needs new ones ASAP).

There are some gaps, but using eye putty helps that too.

That's what I was planning to buy him (or maybe 10mm depending on the style), but I've never actually put any other eyes in him.

So I looked at a store today and no dice, I think they are probably online only at least right now.  The lady at the counter did give me a really helpful tip though, they have a hot line you can call. The number is 1-800-901-0881, you just give it the sku and your zip and it checks for availability. None of my area zip codes showed anything so I think I'll start a group order.

I would need different colored hair though (brown) and she would be my first and only BJD. How do you guys like yours if you have purchased them already?

I've had one Ai for five years and got my second one yesterday. They're absolutely adorable, way cuter in person than in the stock photos in my opinion. However they do have a lot of problems, which is why I would never pay more than $30 for one. Their posing abilities are pretty terrible, they can't even tilt their heads without help (tape, holding in place, etc), their stock eyes are horrid, and their eye mech can cause a lot more problems than it solves if you touch it or get unlucky (my Leptospermum had wonky eyes for years because of the damn thing but switching to eye putty really helped). The Aster I got yesterday can't fit into her shoes (at least with her socks on), while my Leptospermum fit all of his clothes perfectly (and still does).

They really are a lot of fun and I do adore mine, but whether or not you'll like them all depends on what you want and expect out of them.

Yeah I don't own any BJD's and she would mainly be a display doll unless I decide to get some differently clothes then I would try to get her to pose for pictures but that's about it. I think I mainly like her because of her outfit reminding me of Alice in Wonderland. I've always wanted a BJD but I get panic attacks looking at the prices LOL!
