First finished custom (Bow Tie) - Second attempt on page 2

So I made my first (finished) custom. It's a repaint of a molded hair G4 Applejack. I tried to mold hair myself but that didn't turn out so great and I wanted to try to get better at eyes and symbols before moving forward with rooting hair.

Presenting... Bow Tie!~

I think I need to get better brushes for smoother strokes on the eyes. They look a bit rough, when you look at them. Rougher than what I want, anyway. I'm going for smooth strokes that look almost straight out of the factory.

Any tips for that?

It is a lovely 1st custom! And for working on a tiny surface, has a lot of merit!

If you feel that working on tiny surfaces like the eyes and symbols are being difficult, you can first draw some lines to follow and add thin layers of your paint for you to control your amount of paint. Of course, getting small brushes will help you a lot =)  but remember to thin your acrylics with some water so you can have thin lines without losing your nerve!  I'm not sure what kind of brush to recommend, but I'm positive to say that you have many options, chose the one you think you can work with and enjoy ;)

That is SO cute! I don't normally like the molded hair ponies but every custom I have seen of them I just adore! This is adorable, good job! I love her eyes :)

Great first go, and I agree small brushes and thinner paint.  I actually use artist grade which is thicker then craft paint but go on nice and smooth.
