I saw an ad on craigslist a while back...someone was selling a small lot of vintage ponies, all of them had her name written on them in ink, and she wanted $1000 for the lot.  O.o

I wish I knew how to do screenshots *admits to being thick as a brick when it comes to computers...* but I laughed out loud when I read this description on our local auction site:

My Little Pony - ponys

7 used ponys /unicorns & a head
will need a wash & brushed hair

My husband and I shared a few inappropriate jokes over that one!

There's a lot that was advertised for aages for $70, that was advertised as a fakie lot. There was about 8 of them, all walmart-esque fakies, and one G2 Queen Sunsparkle. The price dropped to $40, and every now and then I see about half of them come up in a lot for $25 or so... NO-ONE WANTS THEM, GET IT? STOP RE-LISTING!

Does anyone have the link to the "Sad blue pony" one? It was one of the wingers, can't remember which. The listing was for $15,000 I think, but his description was hilarious. This guy had to be drunk as a skunk when he wrote it. I cried from laughing when I read it.
I'll have to see if I can find the link somewhere.

There's an eBay BIN for $5000, starting bid at $500. It's three carrying cases and a bunch of common ponies. *facepalm* At a more reasonable price it would be a very good buy for a new collector.

I saw this one too! I was like *facepalm*
I think what happens is that some people see a rare lot of ponies go for a lot of money, and then they assume that EVERYPONYEVER is worth that much... Kinda funny but kinda annoying if they have a common or even slightly uncommon pony that you want.

It's almost like they think you could buy a brand-new baseball card and say, "Here.  I'll sell it for the same price as a vintage Mickey Mantle card."  Um, that's not how collectible items work.

This one always cracks me up.  The seller keeps relisting it over and over without dropping the price.

Hey, genius, maybe if you got out a camera or cellphone and took pictures of the exact pony YOU are selling, it would help.  You're not supposed to put up a picture of someone else's item for sale and use it for your own item.

Seriously, it takes 5 minutes to take a darn photo and put it onto your computer.  And there are people everywhere who can give you instructions on how to do that if you're not tech-savvy.  (Which reminds me, I need to photograph the stuff I'm selling!)

There's been a lot of 18 G1's listed for $200 on Craigslist for a while now in my area. They just keep relisting it. It's a lot of commons all with braided hair. They say you could EASILY sell each for $15 on EBay. Why don't they do that then xD

I found a FF Minty advertised as an Argie.  I messaged the seller about it.  She does not know ponies and basically looked at other auctions for how to describe her.  Figured I'd spare her the wrath of someone who does not check pics.  :)
