How to attach wings?
« on: May 16, 2013, 02:43:00 AM »
Hi there again! Eh sorry for all the lame questions but how would you all go about inserting/ placing wire wings on a g4? Do you melt a tiny hole and glue in...or? I am scared of just gluing them on top, afraid it will look messy and unfinished and less stable?.. The person getting this is not a "fragile" handler.
I really dont want to add sculpting on top on this pony either, I think it'd look too heavy.

http://instagram.com/p/ZXiW4mCkXI/ photo of the wings, they are a little longer then the g4s body, and will likely put one out straight and one "up" to imply playfulness.
Also does it look better/ more clean to put the curled wire up, or leave it on the underside?
If you have used these type of wings ( wire bends) any help or pictures would be a huge help!

I think people just poke a hole with the wire or the right sized pin/needle and stick it in there.  If you don't glue it in, then the wings can be removed for storage/shipping and re-inserted later.
