Anyone collect Barbie Horses?

This guy gets around a lot! I have two of these, and my bestie has one. We named him Thowra, from Silver brumby, lol... turns out his real name is 'Dallas'.

The 2nd one is from the Meadow Mares line. Her name eludes me right now, There was an inset set, Dragonfly/butterfly/hummingbird. Alternatively there was a jewel set and an unnamed set, I'm pretty sure this girl is from the last set, will update as I figure it out from my old records!

That one is the infamous 'Nibbles'! Everyone who was anyone had Nibbles, let me tell you! She was the barbie horse to have. She came with oodles of accessories, and has a magnet in her nose to open her picnic basket, and pick up her carrots and hay.

ooo i love the barbie horses before the started using that ..new mold for the head gah.  I had Nibbles, Highstepper, tawney and a couple others . hmm purple one might not have been barbie and i know it wasn't silkymane

Update: the grey one is Amethyst. From the Jewel Set, I was wrong, but i figured it out! YAY!

I remember that the meadow mares were $20 back in the day, and Nibbles was something crazy like $70. The other 'special' mares were $30 I think, so they were a treat we really saved up for or got on special occasions. I didn't get that many, cos at that stage G2's and My Beautiful Horses were in the sales bins for $3-$5, and Grand Champions were about $13, and I liked them better anyway.

I have 5 of them, 4 from my childhood and I love them I guess I collect them but I would not buy them online. I don't have pics either :is lame:
they are so pretty!

I might have to keep picking them up when I see them... NIBBLES!! I'm SO excited, I kinda want to get the picnic basket and hay that works with her nose magnet!

Oh my goodness, her name is Nibbles?! Haha I called mine Vanilla! xD cause, ya know I was super creative xD I had loooots of Barbie horses and no Barbies! Lol xD I also had a white unicorn I remember that had pink hooves and a horn that would light up and play music :> and Mulan's horse. And I know I had others but my memories are fuzzy ;< I gave all of my Barbie horses to my boyfrind's nieces x'3 I kinda miss my unicorn now though. Might have to get her back! Hehe

Oh! I also remember having a pearly one with pink detachable wings and a brown one similar to the Amethyst Sunshinepony has :3 oh the memories!

I cant seem to find mine...I got it for Christmas '95 or thereabouts, she looked like Nibbles but didn't pick things up or anything..she came with a car and horsebox but perhaps she didnt actually come with them and was packaged separately? Anyone know?

I'd like to know too, when I searched for one and found their 'wiki' i looked up pets and there was simply a  blanket statement saying "barbie's had a lot of pets!" and I was like...really? 

For such a huge fandom they don't seem to be anywhere near as organized as us.

When I was seriously considering getting into Barbie collecting a few months ago, this is the reason I decided against it. Apparently because of Barbie's age and the fact that BILLIONS were produced and sold for the past 70 years or so, not even Mattel has a complete record of every single Barbie thing that's ever been done. I decided it was a little too abstract for me, and that I'd stick with just the interesting ones I've found from various second-hand sources.

That said, I do love the horses, but I only have a few. I really like the smaller, modern-day ones with the bright colors and almond-shaped eyes. I think they are from some sort of fantasy line. I have two bright pink ones- one is glittery with a butterfly-shaped seat for a small doll, and the other is sort of transparent and fades to white. I also keep a MIB Barbie sea pony from late 2011- the one I picked out is blue, and I really love those tiny pegasus fakies that came from a Barbie set from 2009. My favorite is my Nibbles though. I had one as a kid, so when I found a very nice one at Goodwill I just had to grab her. I know she wasn't mine though, because my mom threw her away. Plus my childhood one was missing her tail. I'm pretty sure I still have all of her accessories in storage, but I never really cared about accessories. I was just glad to have my Nibbles back!

You know, I also have a Barbie giraffe.  LOL!   Seriously, she had a giraffe.  It's a plush toy with brushable main and tail tuft.  I'll need to dig that out and get a pic of it too. 

I wanted that one so badly when I was small. I saw it in one of the magazines where they go camping in Africa.
I love the horses, I have a few myself and always pick them up at fleamarkets. My grail is the cute foal Dixie.

When I was a child in the 80s I nearly bought a Barbie horse to go with my Sindy and Anna Moore horses. It was a palamino with movable joints, but when we took it out of the box in the shop, one of its joints was on wrongly and a hoof was on back to front! So I never got one in the end.
Does anyone know which horse it could have been? Must have been around 1985-6 ish?

This is Rainbow Beauty, with the wings, she also had a mini pony that could be filled with glitter in the compartment under her tummy.
