Rarity in upcoming 'Story Packs'

Which is a shame I was looking forward to the new mould for her. On the plus side, the sea serpent's official name is Steven Magnet!

That's odd- there are a bunch of the short-tailed Rarity ponies on Taobao.  Maybe the picture of the box above is just the prototype?

Four out of five in the set being new molds/characters is still good. Would have been nice if they had kept the prototype Rarity for the set, though.
And I'm not sure what to think about "Steven Magnet" being the serpent's name. Seems kinda random, but I guess it works. xD

I know I've seen a pic of this figure recently on ebay or taobao but I can't remember what the tail was like 

I'm fairly certain both those pics you posted were taken at toy fair though.

Well that is sad to see I thought that is was kind of cool that she had a short tail!

People-  I wouldn't get too excited yet.  Both of the photos are old- and there are hundreds of the short-tailed /new Rarity pose ponies showing up on Taobao- so I actually think it's safe to assume that Rarity WILL have a short tail in the pack.

Yeah, I have a feeling cropped-tail Rarity will show up in the actual set. I can't wait until it's released. My two favourite ponies and my favourite non-pony (Steven Magnet).

At toy fair they showed both versions, I assumed the old packaged one was a placeholder

That was actually a placeholder name made legit.  See, with the terrible Youtube close captioning on, one of the lines was rendered as "Steve Magnet". So people where like "Okay. We'll call him Steve Magnet."


I am agreeing with the people who figure the snipped tail Rarity will be the one in the pack. I figure they just didn't have one on hand when they packaged up that sample of the packaging.
