Another Variation question - G1s, Glow 'n Show, Paint, etc

I've always been sceptical about that if the opaque ones and the clear ones are variants. But I like them both equally

I know I've managed to get one G2 Hip Holly to turn from clear into opaque when I scrubbed the inside of the pony with toothpaste (she had rust).

Maybe someone remembers having a clear Glow 'n Show Pony which turned into opaque over time..?

Uh oh.... my clear Star Glow also has tail rust and I was going to scrub out around her tail hole using toothpaste... perhaps I should hold off? I just really hate selling something without cleaning it (doing that bit me in the butt recently...ugh... )

I can't decide if I want to keep them both or sell them. Clearly to the naked eye they're quite different. I mean I could tell anyone who knew nothing about ponies that they were variants, and they'd easily agree due to the marked differences. However... that's not important, lol.

I guess it's just my personal dilemma now, with all the information now I can at least be much more informed about Glow 'n Show ponies... the blue hairs vs aqua, the opaque vs clear, etc... and I REALLY appreciate that. I guess I'll bite the bullet, clean my clear GnS, and see what happens. If she clouds up, I suppose I won't have to struggle figuring out which one to keep... which isn't necessarily a "good" thing but... if it happens it happens... I guess.

I would keep both, they look very different variants or not. And the Glow 'n Shows are lovely, one can never have too many of them? I regret selling my doubles

^ This actually helps. I mean she's worth a decent price and I could use the money to buy other ponies but... I feel one day I might also regret selling them since they're different looking.
