Burger King ponies in Puerto Rico
« on: April 22, 2013, 04:44:02 PM »
I am visiting my family in Puerto Rico and they had ponies at Burger King when I was at the mall last week. I got Pinkie Pie. P.R. is a U.S. territory, so I was wondering if they were available in the U.S. Though we could be considered a separate region by Burger King.

I sure hope they come to the US too. :) I've only bought one, but a friend is sending another... I'd just have to run to BK and buy a Pinkie Pie. :P

Are they the same ones that were in Germany? I don't think they'd come to the US because I'm pretty sure McDonald's has a contract with Hasbro to make Happy Meal toys. But if they did come to the US, we'd probably have more than 3 different ponies because don't Kid's Meal toys always have more than three?

There are 6 toys, the thing is that they are divided into male and female toys: 3 cars and 3 ponies  :|

It could be that Burger King categorizes Puerto Rico as part of their Latin America region. Even though we are U.S. The back of the packaging had several languages. Which would make sense since Spanish is spoken here. They are the same 3 ponies that I have seen pics of online.

Even if they don't come to the United States. At least they are more widespread than just being in Europe. Too bad I'm leaving today. :(  Going back to my Burger Kingless island.

At least I got Pinkie, and if there is a Burger King in the airport maybe I'll get another one. :hope:

It depends on if its an exclusive contract or not. There have been a handful of toy lines or merchandise lines which have had releases at both BK and McDs in the course of 12 months. It all depends on what was agreed and how long, if an exclusivity contract exists, it runs for.

Awesome that they are turning up in other locations - hopefully that makes it easier for people to track them down :)

I am hoping that the next FIM Mcdonalds series will be even better.. Here's to hoping either all molded tails/manes or all brushable tails/manes... the half and half looks so mismatched XD
