....Surprising Cure for Crazy Tinsel (Now with pic)
« on: April 17, 2013, 11:27:42 AM »
I got my pony bride a long time ago, and her tinsel was CRAZY. That had to be over five years ago. The only way I could think to make her look good was to braid it. Apparently being left in such and neat braid for so long has left her tinsel straight and tame again O_O I'll take some pic in a bit, just thought I'd share!

EDIT

I went and did a quick wash out to get the kinks out of the hair, conditioning it and then rinsing it out with hot water. After shaping it with my hands and leaving her to dry, this is what I'm left with. Once more, I just can't tell you how out of control crazy her tinsel had been! The only reason I had braided it at all was because it was the only way I could make her look nice! It was like a glittery fro >_<

On to the pic

Wow... that sounds interesting... and promising. I have so many ponies who are gorgeous apart from wacky tinsel. I'll have to give it a shot.

That having been said, this sounds like a headline from one of those spam ads: "Mom from [your hometown here] cures crazy tinsel with this weird trick! See why hair stylists hate her!" XD

LOL! I love it!! I doubt I'd be the first to discover such a thing. In fact, I think it has to be done in a specific way to make it work. But it gives me direction to continue hair taming techniques. I had a G3 with crazy tinsel out of the box and I ende dup giving the pony a ribbon wrap down the hair. When it was removed over a year and a half later, her tinsel was tamer as well.

I don't know how well this would work and real damaged tinsel, but it it's just curly kinky crazy well...this worked for me!

It might sound like common sense now that you've done it, but it's still a great tip! I haven't got much tinsel to contend with yet, but I'll keep this in mind for the future.
