I've never seen the acrylics around here. At least not as i sit here thinking about it.
How do they compare?
By the way. do you have any thoughts about the lacing in the corset? Im thinking bright red.

Given the choice between a craft acrylic or a Jo Sonya, I'd chose the latter everytime. They are artist grade acrylics, very pigmented and quite 'velvety' to use. They water down for airbrushing wonderfully and go on super smooth with excellent coverage. I love the range of colours and find they blend super well, and can be mixed with some fantastic results for gorgeous custom colours. I personally use water to thin them as I've found that gives a better result than windex or flow mediums (which WILL give the paint some texture and body if you are going for that look - when dry, its almost a plastic like finish).
More expensive - I pay about 7 bucks for a tube, as opposed to 2 bucks for craft acrylics. Lasts me ages though - I use several shades of red to make blood splatter, so I go through them relatively fast compared to the other colours, but a tube of the red I use as my 'splatter base' lasts me between 3 and 4 zombies.
The dioxazine purple? Its a life changer - the colour is absolutely stunning and doesn't need a black tint - a couple of coats will turn it into this rich, so purple it looks black
