I get my hair from RDUS usually and haven't had a problem til now, but she was ill, so I don't really consider it a 'problem' per se so much as a set back. And usually one hank will do me a G3 pony and less for a G4.
I'm excited to send your custom off. She'll be my second fully completed custom, and even though she is extremely simple, I am still proud. I hope you'll like her.

Ok soooo I really dislike how huge the Glimmer wings are on the G4's so I bought a Daisy Dreams today to experiment with. I ripped off her glimmer wings (which felt really satisfying ) and replaced them with winger wings!! Her glue is drying so she's not ready for a photo shoot yet but I wanted to share anyways. I must say the winger wings look sooo much better, more proportioned to her body size.

I now want to do this to each Glimmer wing. Does anyone remember who the member here is who makes repro winger wings?

Omigosh that sounds adorable!!!! I'm totally looking forward to pictures!!

I am almost done with my first "full" custom and messed up big time. The sealer I used was a bad idea. It dried too glossy and is a little sticky so fuzzes are sticking to it... (applied weeks ago so it SHOULD be dry) I decided to put the hair in anyway but that was a BAD idea too- the head might be ruined by fuzz. Ugh all that work!

Awww Ginger I'm sorry to hear that. I hate when you put in so much work and things just don't turn out. Can you put a different (better) sealer on top? Or is it too late?

I almost ruined Daisy Dreams, I don't know what Hasbro was thinking but that piece the holds the glimmer wings on is like half her body!!

Pinkittywinks makes wings, but hers are more like butterfly ones (I love them though, I've bought lots from her), I know Lady Satine makes wings and so does Pandabearchan, I think the latter might be the one who makes proper repro ones. HOWEVER you could just ignore me and go and check the first page of the swap thread as Michelle listed them all there

Oh hun I had a lot of stress with my first FBR, I have no idea how to keep them from getting fluffy! What sealant did you use? I found matt Mod Podge really good. You need to water it down though. I agree with Lady S - you may as well try a layer of another sealant to see if that gets rid of the stickiness. Don't despair!

You're right!! I had a baity Sky Dancer with terrible regrind. I love how the winger wings look on the G4's...now I have a project - change glimmer wings to winger wings lol

I didn't mind the huge glimmer wings so much, I thought they made for an interesting variation. But those winger wings are the perfect size and look sooo adorable on the tiny G4 body!

Aww thanks, I'm pretty sure the custom is all messed up. At first I thought I could scrub the fuzzies off but that didn't work either because they are so embedded. It was a rustolium sealer.  My mom was going to the craft store and offered to get me the sealer while I was at work but she got the wrong brand. In my haste I decided to use it anyway and it SO wasn't worth it. It was "supposed" to be matte too, but came out totally shiny. Everything about it went completely wrong.

Here she is though, this is what I was trying to do. The picture hides most of what went wrong.

I'm just going to set her aside and try to fix her someday else. Got pretty burnt out!
