back when I had money... I spend about $600 in one day on eBay... I dont remember how many I got... but it was in the range of about 20 (or more)

Ahahaha thanks for making me feel better, guys! I guess I'm just not used to spending that much money on myself, at least not so quickly. It's a bit dizzying. But I feel good about my collection now. I still have some wants but they'll have to wait til after I take care of real life things... like rent.
