I looked up the definition to find out what it means. And yes, I'm a night owl who plays on the computer until 2am sometimes. I don't study though, I only study if I'm doing course that requires homework, which is done during daytime.

Where are you from? I thought that was a fairly common little saying. I'm not sure where it originated, but I'm in the US and have heard it many times.

...And if you really want to insult someone we have a bunch of completely harmless things in Swedish that sound like really bad words to an English speaking person. Just sayin'...
