Screwed up with auction listing

Okay, I have a problem.

My email recently got hacked so I had to change everything.....my ebay email, paypal, etc.

Well, for the first time since then, I went to list some auctions. They have ended and I have some buyers. What I didn't realize is when listing the auctions, it saves your old typed information from the last time, including your paypal email. I figured that got changed automatically since your paypal account is linked with ebay. But it didn't. So all these buyers have been trying to send money to my old email which no longer exists. Ebay is stupid and doens't allow the exchange of email addresses in messages, so I had to tiptoe around it and give each of the winners the right paypal address.

I hope I won't get in trouble for this? I told them to mark it as goods and I'd mark the auction as payment received. I cannot believe ebay won't let you go into the ended auction to edit this. That's crazy. It's an easy mistake to make and they should have a solution.

OOooooo... I am sorry your email got hacked.  That must had been a nightmare.  I can't believe ebay won't work with you either.

That's no fun, sorry you had to deal with it.  As for how you handled it, I think you did fine and I wouldn't worry about getting into trouble for it.  I'd have thought they'd have updated each other, also.

I would be calling Ebay and asking how to handle this!    Certainly it's something they must have experience with...

Two of them got my message, one got me my payment to the right Paypal address. The other sent a message from her phone so I guess she is waiting until she gets near a computer.
The other one I have a feeling is a non-paying bidder.

But yeah.....I haven't called eBay yet. I corrected it so it won't happen in the future. This was more of a venting post. I am terrified of getting hacked again.
