There are 8 G3's who only had one pony in their pose. Imagine that when people try and say it costs too much for Hasbro to make a mold!

Yeah and several of those are babies, too! And one has moving arms/legs so you can pose her! Why Hasbro never made more than one of each of those is beyond me.

Are all the Sundae Best Ponies alterd (not thinking about their 3d symbol)?
No. If 3d symbols don't count, Peppermint Crunch and Swirly Whirly are the only unique poses. The rest are Coco Berry - Powder, Crunch Berry - Tootsie, Sherbet - Posey and Banana Surprise - shy, unless I'm mistaken...

Actually, all of them are resculpts. Compare any of them to earlier ponies in the same pose, and they all look slightly different. Peppermint Crunch is the Firefly pose and Swirly Whirly is the Collectors pose.

Also someone posted Princess Misty - she is a resculpt of the Moondancer pose! In fact I think the whole 2nd Princess set is made from resculpted poses.

^ Wow... never noticed that... *has none at hand right now and searches frantically for photos* P. Crunch and S. Whirly are the only ones that stand out to me, so this far I've only counted them as unique poses.

Also, UK newborn Baby Bouncy's rearing pose.  Just her, right?

The USA line:
Sitting - Bubbles/Seashell
Looking up Seapony - Sanddollar, high tide, Wave Jumper.
Rearing - Magic Star, Truly and Skippety Doo
Mermaid Pose - Only used on the one set.
Earth ponies from a Flutter pose  - scribbles & dabbles.

Re-sculpts:
Earth DNP - upfacing earth pose only used on that set.
Sunday best - All ponies got a re-sculpt of older poses.
Merry Go Round - All ponies got a re-sculpt of older poses.

This is the best way to define them for certain as technically the resculps are the rarest as they mostly only have 1 pony in that mould. The above list would also include the second set of Princesses of course as they were resculpted.

But if you generalise and simply consider Peppermint Crunch the same pose as Firefly or Taffeta the same pose as Applejack then it will be Sitting pose. If you include Nirvanas then it would actually still be the sitting pose as it still beats the rearing pose 5 to 6. However, this assumes you dont factor in unique releases like the Pretty Manes and the Mermaid ponies and even the sea ponies - i.e. only earth, uni and pegs - and also assumes you are not counting babies.

If you include the babies then outside the gimmick releases its Baby Bouncy from the Surprise Newborns she was the only pony produced in this mould as the others the same are all pegs and she is of course an earth pony.

Edit: for terrible spelling.

I love how we find fun things to think about MLP even 30 years later...  :)

What about the Talking ponies - or wait, they share with the Precious Pockets...

Rel, I think you've got it right with Mommy Surprise!  :D

Swirly Whirly's pose is just for her I believe. She's not quite a CP pony.

I would also go with this one.
