I just had a quick question, for the Custom contest, does the base have to be an actual hasbro pony?
Or could we do things like make a custom plushie?

I wouldn't have a problem with a plushie, but I don't know how the other members would feel about it. Is anyone opposed to a plushie in the custom contest? If no one disagrees with it, then by all means make a plushie.

I'd love to see a plushie, I just wonder how a plush can be judged with a "regular" custom. They are different mediums and take a different sort of skill. Instead of transforming an existing toy you are creating a totally new item.
So I think it depends on how the judge will be judging this contest.

You make a good point, NinaMarie. It would be difficult for a plushie to be judged along with customs. Maybe it would be a good idea to stick with just Hasbro based pony customs and save plushies for next year?

Hi all!

I went last year with my hubby and two little girls and it was lots of fun! We have been looking forward to coming again since then, but this year we are planning a trip in May to Arizona. So I'm not sure if we can make it. I am still lchecking, but I sure hope so - it was lots of fun!

Is everyone from last year coming?

Not everyone from last year will be here but a few will and some new faces as well. =)

Also bumping up the thread. We're less than a month away from the meet. I'm working diligently on the door prize custom and making last minute orders for all the necessary party supplies. My livingroom is already looking like the ponies are taking over. lol Keep the RSVPs coming. You have until April 15th to do so.

Bumping this up since it seems the RSVP date is very soon! I'm hoping my sister would like to go since I'd love to attend but I'd need her to drive me, and I'm crossing my fingers I'll be able to RSVP by tomorrow.

I do have a question about the contest though. I assume that the Member Beginners is for adults, correct (seeing as there is a children's category)? I've never done any sort of customizing before so that seems more my speed since I'd love to try to give it a go, but I still want to be sure, am I required to paint or rehair the pony for it to count? Or is just, well, giving her a make-over such as doing her hair, dressing her up, etc. still acceptable?

The member beginner category is for Arena members of any age who haven't customized before or are fairly new to it.

Rehairing is optional, but repainting is recommended. I want everyone to have an even shot at winning. I hope you'll be able to make it. You have until 11:59pm tomorrow to RSVP.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know! I've never done any sort of customizing before so I'm pretty nervous about turning the pony into a giant wreck

I'll probably try to add in a little paint then, at least redoing her cutie mark.

NinaMarie, where do you live, anywhere near the Bay Area?
I personally couldn't handle a 2 hour drive myself, getting around town and SJ with scarletjul is scary enough!
I've still got one spot open in my carpool if you'd like to come.
It's myself, my boyfriend and 3 other arena members so far.
