Real Bronies do not hate the previous generations, whoever claims to be a brony and hate on the other generations is surely misinformed and missing completely the message that the brony community stands for.

Oh My!  That's awesome!  I got to meet Delancie at Comic Con in Ottawa last spring.  He had artwork of Discord to sign, and I squeed!  I think I scared him.  He told me he had no idea what he was getting into when he signed on for the show, lol.

I'm not bothered by the older gen hate, even though I disagree with it. From what I know of the brony documentary, it's not really much of a "documentary". It seems like something put out for bronies to feel good about bronies, it's not there to educate non-bronies. As someone else mentioned, it's very self-congratulatory. It's clear whoever put this together didn't do their research on the older gens, especially since they counted Tales as G2. I've only read about it though. I haven't watched the whole thing (and don't really have any desire to).

Although I did hear that Lauren Faust herself worked on this, and maybe even wrote the lyrics to the song? You'd think she would have nicer things to say about G1 seeing as, well, the mane six were originally going to be G1 ponies and are based off of them and the memories she had of playing with them as a child, but then again it is for a brony audience.

The animation is great though!

I've heard that Tara Strong voiced the female pony.

The head scratcher for me are the three categories of fan that they come up with.  Hipster, Moderate and Creative?  I guess it's all in fun, but didn't seem like really clear deliniators for members of a fandom.

Yeah, those were... odd choices. I guess they didn't want to mention anything about the er... overzealous G4 fans.

The G1 show was only made to sell toys, but G4 TOTALLY wasn't.
My Little Pony Tales is G2.
Everything about G3 is so horrendous that it shouldn't even be discussed.
It's "very much expected" for adult women to enjoy shows and products made for little children (I had no idea I was so mainstream!)
Female bronies are an angry splinter group of  the much more important (male) fans of FiM.

I thought documentaries were supposed to be factual and educational, not self-congratulating, self-serving, and insulting.
I had been looking forward to watching the documentary before I saw this video.  I might just skip it now.

From what I remember, the people who made the documentary didn't write the lyrics for the animation.

And they didn't necessarily say "adult women", they said "when girls like little ponies." Which is true, you expect a girl to like it rather than males of any age.

I believe you got the wrong message about the female bronies section of the video :/ I didn't take it as them being "an angry splinter," but rather they were introduced in the animation to show that it's not only male bronies that are part of the community.

I think you should still give the documentary a chance and not base your opinion of it just on an animation that they commissioned some fans to work on for them

This is most likely because bronies spent hundreds of thousands on this stupid thing, just so they can get their name at the ending credits (there were other rewards for the kickstarter as well, the more money you spent the "better" they got). It's funny how bronies themselves always try to say "we're not so bad, we donate to charity"...yet hundreds of thousands have gone to this "documentary" and that commercial for the Hub... That doesn't look like charity to me.

I found the cartoon cute and that's all I watched it for. I just see it as the one section of the pony fandom saying 'hey look at me!' It's just a fan video as I see it.
