*grins* the Bluebelles are usually the same inside and out;  if there is an area of blue on the outside, there's sometimes a darker blue on the inside, but that is it.  the all white ones are all white on the inside, too.

It also would explain the symbol variation:   the symbol paint is more translucent on the older ponies, so some error Blue Belles have pink symbols since blue plus pink makes a light purple.  It's easy to guess Windy's purple symbol would be more blue without her body being the right color, and that would explain the ones with the purple symbols, too:  some have painted symbols with glitter(blue) and some have symbols made from purple glitter(purple)

I have a white Windy too, but I can't improve on the pics that have already been posted, so I won't bother trying.  I can confirm that the symbols are more bluish-indigo than regular windy, and the shapes of some of the swirls are slightly different too.

And I just got a white headed Blue Belle a week or two ago; I'll post pics soon.
Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

I have a "white windy too" mine is also white inside with the blue-ish symbols.  She came to me in a lot off Ebay Aust and sadly wasn't in the condition implied from the listing but I adore her anyway.

I'm not sure she's a true variant exactly either but i like the comparison to the white bluebells but she is a lovely pony whatever you like to belive she is :-)

I'm not sure what to think, while I'll love white ponies and have a so called white windy myself I'd like to think there is a variant! But the realistic part of me believes she's just fades easy.... as mentioned, I'm convinced when I see a Moc one :-)

Just had a thought.

We all know that Windy was a popular pony. We also know that Majesty was a popular pony.

Is there even a vague possibility that excess Majesty bodies were used to bulk out Windy orders? UK Windys seem to be a lot lighter than their US counterparts, so I would assume they were made either in a different factory, or were made after the regular US Windys were released. Would also make sense with the bluer symbols too if they had to remix the paint.

I don't think any of the White Windys are quite Majesty's colour though. If memory serves, they were available in the UK after they were in the US. The copywrite date on my backcard is 1984, but I think they were around after that as well. Generally we were a bit behind the US. Undoubtably they were made in a different batch, and if the dye wasn't as strong, or was defective in some way, that could account for the paler ones prone to fading.

I agree...I believe it was just a "bad" batch of dye that causes these Windys to fade like that. Makes the most sense. Also considering these girls are getting up there in age.

My white Windy has a slightly different symbol than my faded Windys. it's larger and kind of blobbier as well as being blue. Is that the same as other blue symbol white Windys?

And my white Windy was also found in Australia.

Windy certainly is an interesting specimen...

I have been trying to fade a Windy for nearly 2 years. The purple is disappearing, but the symbols are NOT turning blue?????

Perhaps not the greatest photos, but I think I have the famed White Windy... Her symbols are quite blue compared to the others.

I have 4 stages of Windy.

Wipeaway: as Shelti said the color just never took to the pony and as you wash her leaches right out.
Regular
Sunfade project: She is quite a bit whiter/ lighter than my "white windy"
White Windy: She does have the more bluish symbols.
