I'm so glad it's not a remake! My kids are excited as I had a few episodes of the show on VHS and they loved it. Then I got a Pinkie and the Brain box set and they loved that too!
I'm glad its not a remke either. I don't think the show could ever be the same without Mr. Stone composing the music.

This is the most exciting thing I've heard in a while! I love Animaniacs and even learned the entire countries of the world song by heart. It will be great to see this wonderful cartoon again! :frolic:
Ha! I actually know "Wakko's America" by heart. And "A Quake A Quake." I want to learn the senses song too

I'm still learning Wakko's America and Parts of the Brain, but I do also know the Presidents song. It actually helped me in high school when we had this really mean, really strict history teacher.

As far as remaking it goes, I don't think that this is a show that can ever really be remade even if they tried. I kind of feel like hiring a new writing staff (because getting every single writer we had in the '90s is pretty much impossible) would just put too much pressure on them to force the humor, and it would not be as organic and it would not be as quick as the original.

I think it's a great idea. I didn't realize how much adult humor was crammed into that show until recently. I didn't like the show much as a kid, but now that I see the subtleties in it, I find it terribly amusing. :P

I am seriously excited about this! I do already have one season, uncensored, in a dvd box set, but there is just something about being able to turn on the tv, and there it is!

I've been watching marathons of Animaniacs for a few weeks now through the dvds and youtube. It's become like an addiction, and I'm a fan of Rob Paulsen ( Yakko, Dr. Scratchnsniff, Pinky... he also plays Raphael in the old Ninja Turtles, and my boy, Donnie, in the new one. He's also Carl in Jimmy Neutron, and Doppy in Planet Sheen, and a DOZEN other characters from a TON of other shows. ).

I wonder if they're going to show the Minerva Mink episodes?

So far, one of two Minerva Mink stories has aired (Moon Over Minerva) as of today.
