Wow this is amazing. And I thought purple ponies could get damaged by the sun. I think I saw a thread on the Arena where someone had sun faded playwear on coloured ponies ... not sure. Wonder if this can be done to my Seashell too? Although, I suspect that my Seashell is a bit faded and discoloured because of the the sun but I don't know. Great results anyway.

Whoa... that's incredible!

Foalpatrol - you did such an fantastic job with her! If I saw those photos out of context, I probably would've never been able to tell that these are one and the same pony. Amazing!

Also, it's such a great thing that you decided to give this one another chance by restoring her - I can bet that, because of her numerous  flaws, many people would more likely deem her as waaay too baity to even make an attempt at restoring her.

So I applaud to you for doing such a wonderful job.

Thank you!  My definition of bait has certainly changed after this - would you believe I now consider Windy to be pretty close to mint - she has no blush anymore, but aside from that, she's perfect.  The head/body difference is so slight it's not even worth mentioning.

Wow this is amazing. And I thought purple ponies could get damaged by the sun. I think I saw a thread on the Arena where someone had sun faded playwear on coloured ponies ... not sure. I would advise to proceed with caution, I had no issues with putting Windy in the sun as she was in such poor condition, it was pretty much impossible for her to get any worse.  Results differ drastically when it comes to sunfading.  It turned out that Windy was still lilac underneath all that grime, maybe leaving her in the sun for longer would fade or damage her, I'm not sure.  And the fact that the sun turned her head and body back the same colour is probably the exception rather than the rule.  The sun can repair but it can also damage, so with any sunfading endeavours, keep a close eye on your ponies.

Nice! I do remember you posting about her when you got her... poor pony! And still no idea on how she came to be that gross? Where did you originally buy her/find her?

I have a couple of Totsy (AAAUGH) unicorns who look as grungy as she did, I'll be trying your methods on them.

I took a gamble on an auction lot where the pictures weren't very clear.  I think they must have been sitting in a damp house or garage for several years.  There was also a Baby Squirmy who wasn't mouldy and turned out quite nice, and a SS North Star, with full, thick (but mouldy) flocking.  And a freaky-looking Tootsie pose SS fakie, it had flocking on its eyes... *shudder*

Good luck with your scary Totsys!

OH MY! I can hardly believe it's the same pony! you did an amazing job, congrats! ^^
I'll finally have to try myself at defrizzing, I never dared doing it before, even though I have some girls who could use it... this thread gave me inspiration
