MLP check list

So with the new year coming I plan to re-organize my G1 collection and at the same time make a check list of who I have, I'm going to keep on the computer for easy access , but I'm wondering if it should be alphabetized or by year.

What do you think?

I am making a g3 checklist/price guide...at first I started by alphabetical, then thought maybe year...but ultimately I decided to go by color that was listed alphabetically. I figured that if i couldn't think of the name of te pony, but knew her color it would make it easier to find...

I always go by set/wave so like can be with like.

As for me I keep track with the guidebooks that helps a lot , every time I have a new us pony I check them off the list.

I should do a check list too, but a little bit lazy to do it.

I do mine by year and sets. To me that is the simplest way to see what was released and when.

I get so confused when it's organized by colour or name

*grins* if you are going to do it on a computer, you could do it in a spreadsheet with color, year, pose, name, and condition, then you can sort by any column you want, depending on what you are looking for. (a G1 bait in Glory's pose, or yellow newborns, or whatever)

I'd say alphabetically.

If you're goal is to remember Who it is you have, that'll be an easy solution. You can always add in cross-referencing to years and sets later.
