Progress - I've made some! Feeling very proud of myself as I've managed to do the base layers of the airbrushing AND get the rehair done!  Another few sessions with the airbrush and then the detail painting can begin!

Eyes gems i dont really like the G2 eyes but i do like the twinkle eye poniea im waiting for a hair delivery but i think it will be  a while before it arrives due to the snow:)

I don't mind rhinestones in and around the eyes. I do love twinkle eyes.

I've been working on this pony over my other swap. FBR is finished, hair is in (so much glorious hair!). Just needs her head back on so I can start my detailing and sculpting and to stop being lazy. I'll probably start on the good stuff on Monday.

And I was brushing it on the bathroom sink

And there was some toothpaste there

And I accidentally toothpaste on the pony's legs

I washed it off and everything but

Now the pony smells minty fresh

So I hope you like minty fresh, yeah

Total newb question; when is it okay to post pictures of complete customs? When the swap partner gets the pony or when it is shipped out or neither?

Not until your partner gets the pony, usually. With some swaps, it might be too easy to guess who the pony is for, and it could ruin the surprise.

I know how you feel, though... I have a shelf full of swap ponies that I'm dying to share, but I can't yet.

I think I have my design all worked out finally. I want it to be perfect! I'm just waiting for my hair to come so I can color match with my painting. I feel like it's been ages since I placed my order but I think it's only been a week.

Question for my partner: Do you mind hasbro eyes on your custom? I noticed most people paint their own eyes, but I am not sure if I feel brave enough to attempt painting eyes yet...

like pandaberry said, you can absolutely post photos of your pony, but I ask that you not post them until your partner has their pony, so there is no chance of the surprise being ruined
You are more than welcomed to share photos with me as you go along, you know, other than the photo check ins



I got myself all set up to airbrush my bait this weekend, and after a few hours, realized....yeah...my airbrush is not working. given its about 8 years old, and i am hard on it....i guess this was bound to happen....but maaan.
