hmmmmm boxes

Well 99.9% of my G4 ponies are deboxed. Now should i keep the boxes or not? I am awesome at getting boxes apart. I can put all my G4 ponies back in their packaging and they almost look like MIB:) but is it really worth it to keep it? I have depleted value due to unboxing but is it worth to loose the space to empty boxes? I would only sell in the future if need be.....hmmmmm thoughts?

I kept the boxes to some G4 soap dispensers I got, just to prove that it was official  In the long run, I say keep the boxes. They are good for all sorts of things: Travel, retaining value or even shipping a pony places!

I like to keep the box art and the backdrops since they stack pretty easily in storage. The big playset boxes I normally don't keep though.

I kept boxes for a long time, but then ran out of room. I had boxes sitting in my closet for years that I never used so I just got rid of them. You can keep them til they get in the way and if you never use them then you can get rid of them

I do like at least the backcard but yes the full boxes themselves are space hugging

There is a big difference in selling a G1 pony with her backcard and selling a G4 with her backcard. As you say putting a pony back in her box after she has been opened doesn't increase her value back up and to be honest I don't think selling her with her box will increase her value at all. Therefore I think if the ponies are already loose you would be safe to simply get rid of the boxes and keep the graphics without worrying about loosing any future value.

I keep the G4 back cards and the little MLP cardstock graphics too.  I have quite the collection! :3

I say dump 'em. I like the space more than potential money I might earn in thirty years. Or maybe keep the boxes for your rarest ones?

I keept parts of the boxes, but I do not take very many of my ponies out of there boxes.

Some of mine are still in boxes and they take up space... I say debox and keep the backcards

I use the G4 box pieces for creative things, but not to keep with the ponies for later, if that makes sense.

Of course, previous generation boxes are different as they are not being printed any more.  G1 certainly is vintage given its age and should be preserved whenever possible!
