I've seen a few of you do wonderful shimmer ponies, so, how do you get them to shimmer?  I know it's not glitter!

Shimmer ponies often have a pearlizing medium applied.  Pearl Ex powdered pigments are amazing and sold at most hobby stores!

It can be applied with the airbrush! I made these two:

Hmm, does it still have those little sparkles? Or is it just a smooth metallic look?

The brand is Vallejo and it was about 3-4€ (at least here in Madrid)

The finish is smooth. Baby Stripes didn't come out as good as LM though, but there is no little sparkles. I'm waiting for a friend who now has Baby LD to tell me if it is any near to the factory pearlized ponies

Some brands have pearlized colors that give a similar effect. Createx has pearlized airbrush paints, but I'm sure if you look for the brands you use you can see if they have pearlized too c:

I use Pearl Ex for smaller accent areas on ponies. I've tried to use it on a FBR mixed with paint and while it worked to a point I had to strip the pony down due to other problems x.x
My DeviantArt, why not drop by and take a look!

Yep I have the folkart one, but I've only used it on an animal so far, and I'm not done with him yet.
