A question about a bait and re-hairing
« on: December 19, 2012, 03:58:10 PM »
I have a Dancing Butterflies.  She is beautiful except she has a shirt button drawn circle near her DS wing in none other than black sharpie. She even has some pink like discoloration on her NDS.  Her hair has been cut badly.  Her symbols are wonderful though and her tail only has slight rust and is in great shape.

Should I spend the money to have someone re hair her?  Even if she has this sharpie mark? Or should I just give up and sell her as a bait?  I am torn because I only spent 3.00 on her and I don't want to spend a lot to get her re-haired when she has damage from a sharpie.

I can't re-hair and I don't have the patience for sun fading a taf pony.

Tried acetone?  I'd be willing to rehair for the cost of hair and shipping.

No I really can't and here is why; its around her butterfly and has soaked in behind it. If I were to use that product it would ruin her symbol.

I'm kinda harsh with my G1 ponies... if they're ones that are pretty common (I think dancing butterflies is... not sure though might want to find out for sure) I would bait it out if the mark is on the Display side...

if it's on the nds side... I might give some consideration to keeping it.

Another thing I like to do with ponies I Like, but that have horrible sharpie marks and stuff but nice symbols, is that I'll do an inverted pony. this might work for you :3 (I'd love to do an inverted dancing butterflies, if you decide to sell her as a bait, I would be interested in doing an inverted restoration :3)

this was a TAF sundance that was in HORRIBLE shape, and I fixed her and now she's one of my favorites :3:

Or you could do something like I did with this poor posey. Her hair was white and she had scratches on her symbols, so I glittered the symbols with an alternate color this probably isn't the greatest solution for you due to the black circle around the symbol, but if you ever find one with scratched symbols this is a good option:

Love Moon Dance!  Tula, it's not that hard to do.  ;)  For the simple designs that is.

I likes to re-hair ponies.  Keeps the night shift from being too boring.

Well, with a lot of thought I have decided not to rehair her due to the damage she has. I think she belongs to someone who can restore her.

If you haven't found a buyer, I'd be more than happy to snag her, as I said, I'd love to do an inverted dancing butterflies >.>
