Question: So, a pony I've been working on as a secondary/extra pony for this swap has small but noticeable flaws in the sculpting that I tried for the first time. Everything else is going well, it's a cute pony and should display well, but if it was meant to be the main pony for the swap it's quality is not up to what I would be willing to send to my partner. However, I don't have much interest for it in my collection, and I don't think I can undo the mistakes I made to do something different with it in the future.

So, partner, in the interest of not wasting what is really a cute, sweet pony, would you like to receive a pony with flaws as an extra? (On my honor, it has just as much love and care put into it as the other, it's just my skill that is currently lacking. Also, it's probably not as bad as I've made it sound, I'm just such a perfectionist...)

Quick little update for me   Both baits are prepped and I should be starting on their FBR this week (if hubby doesn't monopolize my time   he's getting surgery for his ACL). 

As for baits as extras, I would love some!  I really love customizing G4s, but I'm running low on G3s.  Can't stand G3.5s, but G1s and G2s are good as well.  So if you have extras just kicking around I definitely wouldn't mind them

I'm also completely ok with getting an imperfect pony as an extra, especially since it was something new that you tried.  I can't keep my less than perfect experiments around either, but that doesn't have to mean they have to be unloved!

question. ok so i know alot of others are only making one pony. which it totally cool.
i was curious. if i'm having trouble thinking of extras. can i have an extra custom as my extras?
not sure if that ok. probably still have other little treasures. but i usually spend a little more on extras.
just wondering. extra custom ponies? or extra semi-random stuff?
(will be some semi-random either way)

I'm the same! I'd take extra ponies over regular extras any day! Its allll about the ponies, any condition really. I collect BBEs with a passion and most of them are NEVER in good shape so I have a soft eye that easily over looks small flaws!

I wouldn't mind another custom as an extra. I wouldn't mind a pony with flaws as an extra. I wouldn't mind if my partner had no time to put any extras in. lol. The ONLY thing I would mind is anything spider. NO SPIDERS! lol. Honestly...to my partner......have no worries. I will be loving whoever you are making for me. It's just driving me nuts trying to guess who my partner is, and who they making. lol

That's a good idea...if I am able to complete all five ponies, I won't be sending much in extras (sorry partner, but I think the ponies will make up for it), but I am always game for fun, funky, random extras in my box.  Like I said before, I'd even like semi flawed customs as they have character and I'm mushy about no pony being unloved.  xD  That being said, I am not sending a semi flawed custom if I can at all help it.  I'm still beating myself up over a pony that had paint issues that I managed to fix.  /ocd 


Anyway, same goes for me, would love whatever you want to send, just no cherry and no spider stuff.  =]  Love fun and funky things, so go wild!

I've never done a custom swap before- I'm getting angsty about what and how much I should include as extras, and how many ponies I should do...  I don't want my partner to feel cheated, but I don't want to go overboard either

D: Poor spiders getting no love! :3 I have a pet tarantula and I actually LOVE spiders. hee hee

I think if you get more than one pony that less extras are to be expected! (I can't see anyone here opening their box and saying "awww man all I got are these ponies, no extras...") that being said I don't thank anyone should rush out to get tons of extras causes they only made one pony, I'm in it for the PONY the extras are just little bonuses.

I'm right there with ya'll as far as having a soft spot for flawed ponies, I can't stand the thought of any being unloved.

I'm so worried about guessing who my partner is and who they're making cause I don't want t ruin the surprise!

do you have pets, and if yes, would your pet like a treat or toy as well?

personally i would love my extras to be small dog toys or biscuits or things like that.
we have a small dog who is the sunshine of my everyday. so spoiling her is more fun than spoiling myself. (just so you know. any small plush that doesn't have any beanies and has sewn on eyes usually end up with my puppy. mostly stolen... so i give up trying to keep them. mcdonalds. hotel for dogs toys are the best)

um and yeah.. no spiders for me. we have a healthy respect for each other... that's about it.

making an addition to my previous statement. biscuits and greenies are best. chewy treats and rawhides... well she doesn't get them often. plus most biscuits don't go bad. so when she hides them we don't find weird smells around the house.
