I'll admit that I used to be scared of pit bulls. I was attacked by a dog that looked a lot like a pit bull (the large head, muscular body, etc), and a lot of the drug dealers and "thug" people in this town train them to guard their homes, so I was always wary around them. But, after being around one every day out at the barn where I board my horses, I have come to like them a lot. It is definitely a matter of how the dogs are raised and trained, not the breed itself (but try telling that to my mum....  ). I have considered getting one in the future.
What cute pictures! I love Caper's colouring. c:

When I take Caper for walks people always want to stop and pet him which I always encourage people to do because usually their next question is, "What kind of dog is he?", and I proudly tell them he is a Pit Bull.  This way they can associate a POSITIVE image in their heads about Pit Bulls instead of the typical "drug guarding thug dogs".  Most people are so surprised when I tell them what he is because he so sweet and gentle but even if he changes just one persons mind about the breed then its worth it.

So cute pics =)

I really love pit bulls, but not sure if I'll ever get one (unless I can adopt one without paying much...).  At least where I live, it's common to see the breed but not as a 'look, a scary dog!!'.

A lot of youngester take them out for a walks in somewhat crowded places, and never once heard of one 'attacking' humans or other animals, and that makes me happy for them =)
