Its not so much a devalue [unless the shade is completely wrong] but it is something you would have to admit in his description if you were going to sell him. Its a tough call and it probably depends on how confident you are - if you are sure you can get the perfect shade with no issues and no staining then go for it. If you are not certain then I would leave him white. As a badly re pinked pony will be devalued.
I myself would re-pink him - why? Because it fades back to white given time and sunlight- and I have never seen it lower the value. Let him have his pretty pink hair again.
