Kick Your Own Butt Challenge?

So, I was looking at my old customs on deviantART, and I was thinking... I could do that so much better now! Then I remembered those "draw this again" memes that are floating around, and I was thinking of making this into a challenge of sorts!

Would anybody else be interested in doing this with me? I don't know if this should be an "official" challenge with dates and check-ins, but I'd like to see what some other people can produce. I think this could be a lot of fun. C:

One of the first ponies I did was this horrid masquerade pony that turned into a hot mess. I even tried to sell her very cheap a long time ago and no one wanted her . She's like this reminder of failure on my shelf and I've always wanted to redo her. I may be up for this.

I have several ponies I've love to fix. I already ripped apart my butterfly customs (the wings were awful and my painting skills were really lacking) so I definitely have some good candidates.

Love the name!   I actually prepped my first custom/restoration for this sort of thing not too long ago and haven't started on her yet.  I've also got some G1->G4's that could use some help...  So I'm in!

Ooh, so are you guys thinking of fixing a messed up custom, then? That sounds cool! I have a few customs that would qualify. I was thinking of remaking from scratch, since I'm no longer in possession of my oldest customs. I think either would be fine!

I have a mom and baby sunflower set from early on that are never allowed to see the light of day!  That was like, 2008.  This could be fun!

I do have one of my earliest customs that I never really liked completely (used cheap iridescent tinsel... tried to take it off... not pretty ) so I would really love to turn her into something I'm happier with! Or I could also try to make another one inspired by that one following your original idea .

I am actually thinking about completely stripping her down and doing something different. She's kind of a black circus horse and when I was a kid I REALLY wanted a white circus horse pony so it may be a completely new pony. I'd be using my old pony as bait

Id love to do this, but a start from scratch remake version.

I don't think it really matters whether you fix an old one or remake it from scratch, as long as you provide before and after pics.

I've been thinking about something like this, it would be nice to revisit an old design with my current skill set, but I can't bring myself to scrap my old customs so it would be the start from scratch version for me. The problem is, my old customs were all pretty simple in design so I'm not sure if they would make interesting customs... as there wouldn't be much to work on other than paintwork. Well, I could pick my least favourite custom and see if I could tweak her design a bit so that I would actually like her. I don't have that pony anymore but I have pics.

I was definitely thinking of tweaking the design on mine! In fact, I was planning on redoing the pony type completely, LOL.
