thanks everyone for the positive vibes.  renny has been acting a bit strange the last two days but all the horses are  they are stressed.  sunday night we had to put one of the other boarders horse's down... her name was molly she was a paint horse   we tried for 6 hours to save her but she collicked and ruptured..  so all the horses are very stressed out.   i think they miss their herd mate.

Poor Molly. Horses are such social creatures, I can't imagine how they're feeling right now.

sorry to hear that, I lost one of the ones i look after in october. (it was my day off) the person took him up on to the moors after he had been stood in the box for two days for a gallop. and he had a heart attack  . But his BBF as it would be kept looking for him for at least a month after. it made me cry each time he would stand outside his box and look over the door. It is the one thing you cannot explain to them.

I'm very sorry for the loss.. Renny may cross her legs again as a result, she'll foal when she feels safe. Mares are weird, they can go into full labour and then stop if they need to suddenly run off somewhere, hence why some foals are born in five minutes flat!

really dusky?!   ive heard they will hold a foal if they are scared, but i didnt know they would if they were sad or stressed    poor things.   they all keep looking for her.  you can tell especially when they keep looking up the hill where the round pen is.  its where we last walked her.    Renny was actually with her, her last few hours. we had trouble motivating her to keep walking so i pulled renny out and we used herd mentality/follow the leader.  she perked up for that time being.   but renny was clearly upset when we stopped. 
      i think she may have known something was wrong     when the vet was looking molly over i had stopped renny a few feet away and ren kept drooling and flicking her chin to her chest and nudging me (no ears pinned though but same body action as if she were upset). also after i put her back in pasture outside barn, you could hear her kick the door cause she couldnt see molly anymore.      freaking broke my heart

Renny needs to foal, that would make the other horses so much happier. Having a baby about would perk them up!
