Salli: I have a question. Can we still do challenges if we fall behind? I've been so busy lately with our state inspections at work and my machine being crazy never tried my stockings. I'd like to do them this week though and jump back in on the next challenge. Goodness j found a shirt I want to make for Robecca, but I might have a heart attack doing it. Lol

Joann's was having a $1 simplicity pattern sale when I went on Saturday, so I bought three barbie clothing patterns! I'm super excited to try them out, but I'm making myself wait until I finish a swap custom. I got some cute top patterns in there waiting to be made, so I'm glad we're doing tops next!

Yep. You can all-out skip challenges, do them in backwards order, bounce around (I am still working on 3 skirts ) as you choose. This just kind of gives anyone who feels overwhelmed by it all a suggested order and inspiration with it.

Challenge 3: Tops/shirts/blouses

They can be bikini tops, tube tops, t-shirts, sweaters, blouses, tank tops, even a vest. Make or buy at least one in the next 2 weeks (tentative) for your doll(s).

(if you make the back panels overlap I think you could just cut out the stitches when you are done and put snaps in?)

I may just buy a pattern for my Tonner doll, she has so many curves I am not used to fitting around Why re-invent the wheel, right?

Speaking of tips anyone know where to get nice thinner Velcro? I use regular stuff, but it sometimes seems too big for the dolls even when I cut it down.

I have a cheat that I'll share. I buy the rolls of velcro wraps for computer cables. SUPER thin, really cheap AND it doesn't get stuck in doll hair!

Finished my stockings! Think gonna have to make a different pair. In my head bright green to match Clawdeen's stripe and purple shoes seemed cool. Eh the green just doesn't go with her outfit and the poor shoes are off color. Oh well finished!

That's what I do too! I use stuff I buy at Home Depot I keep meaning to look for the thin clear stuff Mattel uses at my fabric stores but I keep forgetting! I always forget notions, even when they ask me 'is that everything you need for your project?'.

I use that computer cable velcro stuff too! And the roll is so big (but still cheap) it lasts forever on doll/pony clothes. (I use it for curtains and just about anything as well!

Ooh, now that the third challange is officially started, I definitely have motivation to get my butt going on this pony custom so I can have time to make a shirt!

I bought a roll of super thin clear Velcro on etsy. I've never seen it in the craft store.

I ended up buying velcro off of etsy too, though it's not the transparent stuff but it's supposed to be thinner than regular velcro.  It's not as thin as the stuff used for computer cables, though.  I'll have to give that a try.  And next payday, I may go ahead and get some of the transparent velcro.
