Honestly I am just plain sick of the term.  It is a fad term in my opinion and its going to eventually tank like everything else. I like some of the G4 episodes and I like the blind bag figures or molded tiny figures but nothing else about the line.  I am a big G1 collector as that is where my MLP Passions are.  I refuse to call myself a brony.  I do not want to be associated with this term as I feel it doesn't fit my age group anyway.  Hugs to all those out there that just love being a brony...I do not mean to offend you.  I am just kind of sick of this term being associated with all things pony.

Eh, the best you can do is just ignore people like that.  Just shrug them off when they go on their insanity-fueled tirades.

I'm content to pretend that the term doesn't exist.

Woooow, that girl sounds . . . interesting??

I associate "brony" with people who were not part of the MLP fandom before G4, came into it through the cartoon, and self-identify as bronies.

I know some guys who got interested in MLP because of the cartoon but who do NOT call themselves bronies, too.

"Brony" is like the term "Trekkie." You can be a fan of Star Trek and not necessarily be a Trekkie. But it is limited to Friendship is Magic the show rather than all of My Little Pony. Now fleeing thread.
I'll put something here some time

I myself just use "brony" as an umbrella term for male fans of the FiM series, but that's just me.

For me, Brony means a big fan of FiM, but pretty much ending there. I don't really like associating myself with the term because I like more than FiM. I'm a MLP fan and a collector.

It did start as a term for males who were fans (bro + pony anyone?). But now, it seems everyone who is a fan of ponies is automatically a brony, for some odd reason.

I don't use the term nor do I want to be associated with it, because I don't see it fit to me and... well, it's just not me lol.

Also, your friend seems just... yes, plain insane?...

Me too!  SDS, Can I use my paint pens to fix the gray?  Pretty please?  I also tie a wicked restrain knot if any mods go stark raving mad...  Just saying.

You mean, with real paint? That'd be kind of messy I'm thinking.

People worry too much. Anyone is free to enjoy the show or toyline at their own pace. Nobody has to use that name if they don't want to.

Basically. It is friggin obnoxious to have someone inform you of your identity no matter what the situation. I love FiM and own a lot of merch, and I still don't call myself a brony because I don't like it. Your friend should respect your position on it. It's YOUR choice what you want to call yourself, not theirs. Honestly why is that so hard for her to figure out? Rude.

Also I feel freaked out about some Big Mac fetish she has going on... o_O what.

That's true. I could use some additional hair, too, since quite a bit has fallen out. This won't hurt now, will it?
