Why does TE Bright Eyes get that funny coating? Is it just dirt, mine kinda of looked pink

I've heard how this pony can discolour/the dye in the vinyl can leach? The stuff on this wee gal was kinda tacky feeling, and owing to the colour, I wondered whether this was the dye coming out in some way? All that stuff on her face came off, but she does have a teensy bit of purply mottling on her legs. I was so relieved when that stuff on her face came off! And no more stickyness - phew!
