Hmm, I wonder if that will work with my Milky Way... my dad bought her for me at a yard sale, and some little kid gave her a mohawk and ducktail...

Wow that is really cool! I didn't want this set because I don't like his mohawk at all but now I might have to get them because he does look suave!

I'm so glad you posted this! My Shining Armor and Cadance just showed up on my doorstep today (and I had them de-boxed so Shining Armor's hair is... pretty wonky lol)  I gotta go pick up some rubber bands and use your extremely helpful tutorial, thanks a ton for posting  ^.^

I thought it was called troll hair 'cause it sticks straight up?

As will2Bfree explained I think many people (or at least the people that remember troll dolls and know what they are) are referring to troll hair because the smaller size Shinning Armor that comes with the castle playset has actual troll hair, not traditional pony hair.

Here  are photos of troll dolls I found on the web

Shining Armor that is sold with castle playset. Found this pic online - it shows the hair very well so everyone can compare and see that its the same thing Troll hair

Styling Size Shining Armor has normal pony hair, it's not like the above hair in the pic.
Probably doesn't own a stolen piece of the Taj Mahal.

Dang....I'm tempted to try that. He looks soooo much better without the mohawk.

Yay!

Thanks for the tutorial, Doc!  I may have to break my no-more-G4s-until-Hasbro-really-releases-Minty rule and spring for this set...  But in the meantime, there are some other ponies in my herd that could certainly benefit from this treatment... muahahaha...

Now if only Hasbro would bring out Flim and Flam (with both troll and non-troll hair).  Hey... they've already got the stallion unicorn mould...

(As an aside, I kinda like the tinier Shining Armour's trollesque hair.  Adds character, or something.)

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html

I repeated my process again to see if it'd make it stay flatter. It made a difference, but not much.
