Have you found Monster High dolls at thrift stores?
« on: November 11, 2012, 03:11:42 PM »
Now with my regular pony hunting at thrift stores, flea markets and other second hand shops I have started to look for Monster High dolls. I have not found anything Monster High yet. I was wondering if anyone has found any at these kind of places? If so, what did you find? How much did you pay? What condition was the item in? Got pics you can share of it??
I'm just interested is all and I am hoping I can find something MH at my thrifty haunts soon!

I'm always jealous of people who find anything good (either MH or MLP) at thrift shops because the ones near me (and there are several) don't carry toys. At all. I don't know why. They used to, but now they don't.

I have heard of people finding MH dolls in thrift stores, though. They always seem to be missing either their hands or lower arms, though. I'm guessing kids remove them and don't put them back in? I don't know. When I was a kid, I took great care of my toys and wouldn't do things like that.

I have yet to see them in thrift stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army, at yard sales, or flea markets. Next year, I think they'll start showing up.

I love thrift stores, I however have not found a MH doll at one yet! But, I have found their diaries and some MH tattoos/party supplies! I'm hoping I get lucky soon! Always on the look out for toys for my daughter(and me!). Happy Thrifting!

I have found several Monster Highs at this one Goodwill in Minnesota - signature Draculaura (I believe she was Wave 1 since this was before she was re-released), Dead Tired Cleo and Ghoulia, and Dawn of the Dance Clawdeen. They all came with all their clothing and body parts except for Clawdeen, who was missing various bits of her outfit. The Dead Tireds even had their stands :) This was all back in the summer, but I felt pretty lucky.

Back when the first signature girls were JUST coming out, I was stunned to find a mostly-MIB Lagoona at a thrift shop for $5!! she was missing a leg fin, but holy cow, who cares!!
since then, absolutely nothing!

I  found a Monster High doll in a bag of stuff.  I was so happy to find her I bought the bag only to realize she was missing her left hand and her right arm/hand.
She's honestly grown on me even with her missing limbs.

I felt bad so I gave her a dress to go with her shoes.  I still have no idea what to do about her missing limbs.

I've found a wave 1 Frankie with her hands missing, the CAM vampire who was missing an arm, and I've bought several dolls in various states at a toy show.

You actually found dolls at Goodwill? I have had the worst luck at Goodwill. If you don't mind me asking, are you near the twin cities at all?

Poor dear! You can buy a replacement arm and hand bag for her on Mattel's customer service website, if you want.

I found some Bratz in a bag.... but sadly... no Monster High yet. There was a set on Craigslist near me a few months ago that had Wave 1 Clawdeen and the Forbitten Love set out of boxes. Unfortunately the seller would not respond to any of my emails, even when I offered to pay 3x what she was asking....

I saw a broken and unstrung Spectra at Goodwill when MH first came out and I didn't know how easily she could be fixed so I left her there. Next time I went back, she of course was gone. Nothing since then, though.. Not that there's many thrift stores around here in the first place. :(

I've seen merchandise items at second hand stores, but never the dolls themselves.

I've seen Monster High dolls at a antique store we have in town though. XD

I've found a few MH in thrift stores. A GB Cleo at Value Village a while back and recently I found a Killer Style Frankie at Goodwill for $.99
