i actually didnt like it   the face thing isnt what bothered me, the disgusted reactions did.   really? rude much...  nothing like a company bashing its own old line....       they could have made the faces shocked and it would have been maybe funny.  but disgust is pretty mocking.

Hasbro doesn't technically make FiM, though. They just "oversee" it and make sure stuff isn't too "scary" or "bad" and whatnot.

What I'm hoping is that it's an edited commercial, as in the "disgusted" reactions were edited in (perhaps Rarity and Flutter were reacting to something else)

I thought it was pretty funny and I laugh really hard everytime I see it. It's just so silly. I would have had the same reaction even if it was a gen I was more fond of like if applejack would have turned in to her g1 self. I don't think it was meant to poke fun as much as a nodded to the fans of the older gens

I thought it was a nod back to the previous generation of MLP. I didn't see it as offensive or anything like that. Just Pinkie Pie being herself.

Not sure about you guys.. BUT I LOVE G3s. I read some pretty nasty comments about G3's. I think the wannabe pony lovers don't know the difference.

I don't really like the G3.5's though.. Their faces are really scary Especially the dolls.

Anyway, I laughed really really hard when that happened on the ad! I even did vector of my own pony based on a screen capture of Pinkie Pie.

I found it very funny, because it was so random. It is certainly not a nod in a nice way though. It's definitely making fun of the G3 design. Definitely more a nod to the Brony community if anything. But I still laughed a lot ^^

I primarily collect G3, but I like G1 and have a ton of G4 stuff...and I thought the commercial was funny.
