I do not own any MH dolls or any other dolls for that matter (childhood Barbies in storage not counted). But I have to say I'm extremely tempted to get at least one just so I can make some wigs. I've got some beautifully dyed wools and other fibers that I'm dying to work with. I just love looking at everyone's custom made items!

This is the same method that I use. I've since made my own pattern for making fur wigs, and I've got a whole box of faux fur just waiting to be turned into wigs. Once I get around to making a few, I'll put them up for sale in my etsy shop.

So far, here's a few that I've made for my girls. I have to get around to making a few from the new pattern, but I'll post pictures of them when I do.

www.distinctivefabric.com They offer 5 free swatches when you sign up with their site. (Free shipping too!) The swatches are big enough that if you cut carefully, you'll have enough to make a MH sized wig. After you 5 free ones, the swatches are a $1.00 each. They have lots of cool faux fur on there too! Thats where I've gotten all my fur from.

I tried the froggy video for making the wigs, but I still get the bump, as you can see on Bonehilda- that big bee hive on her head is like a clump of air/cloth that I dunno how to get rid of it.

I styled the hair so it looked like it was supposed to be high. I got those swatches from that site mentioned in the thread, they are great for the wigs, but they were out of the green. :(

I had the same problem at first with that method. I just made the circles smaller and smaller until I got the right fit for the CAM head.

www.distinctivefabric.com has a new long fur called poodle shag, it looks like it might be a nice afro poof type wig (I'd imagine it would look similar to Howleens if it were bouncy) if anyone is interested. They have swatches for it too. I'm not very good at making the wigs, but I know some of you are. I thought I'd share.
