Wave 5 Blind Bags - Quality... Oh dear!

Ohhh dear. I bought ten of these when I spotted them in Forbidden Planet, purely to trade them off as I've gone off the blind bags at the moment anyway. These are the wave 5 YELLOW bag blind-bag ponies with Luna, Celestia and Cadance as the special ponies.

I popped Junebug out first, and her hair paint is on her ears as well. Gently moving it with a nail, it sort of... glooped off her ears, but it stayed on her mane. The same happened with a Diamond Rose, who looks like they gave her pink hair in two-tone and then decided 'Buck it!' and slopped red-scarlet all over her instead.

I'm really dissapointed with these guys.

eta: Oh, additional: some of the ponies came out of the bag with dirt/black marks, and their hair paint is thin.. I can see the pink/purple 'glowing' through the lighter hair colours on the darker bodied ponies.

I wouldn't expect the quality of paint on a 2 inch toy to ever be anything special...

Fairly true, but this is compared to the last wave of painted ones. The paint quality was better, thicker, and didn't overspill like these ones. The ponies were clean out of the bags, without black marks, and generally they looked better. I understand Hasbro is rushed on demand to feed the market, but these feel like they were half-bothered jobs.

  I just got a Wave 3 with a black mark on her! Haven't tried removing it, aside from rubbing it with a little spit on a cloth.

True, I suppose. But, for a rebuttal: why do my pokemon figures look so nice? Or littlest Pet Shops? Oh, I guess because they are more expensive. But at least we know it IS possible to paint something that small and have it look good.

Wave 5 still isn't in the USA. He's talking about the European ones. Wave 5 and Wave 6 will be released in November or December.

Wave 6 seems usa only so far...

You're talking about Wave 5 (the yellow bags), which is european released so far. The usa wave 5 (which is the same as yours but we're getting as light green) is being released soon.

That sucks they have to have issues. I understand they are a cheap toy but when they have big issues! Come on........ no one wants to spend there hard earned money on somthing sloppy

i remember wave 1 being like that, i was so gutted i paid $5nzd each for dirty, paint slipped ponies, ...........but i still went back to buy more, silly me

I dunno, maybe I'm less picky, but the paint issue on Blind Bags don't bother me in the slightest. :/

Yes your wave 5 made sense No we are not getting different ones its just that wave 5 in the US is coming in slightly different packaging to the International release.

Also so far Wave 6 has only turned up on US websites but it should be noted internationally we dont have a similar concept to BBTS or EE therefore we only tend to find out what is being released when it comes into retailers rather than though pre sales sites. I would be confident that seen as blind bags are Hasbro Europe product we ll get wave 6 eventually.

And back on topic - unfortunately I can't say I am surprised by condition At £2 per item these are super cheap so they do seem to be a quantity over quality argument with them going on right now.
