TRU's Changes: 16.99 Zecoras & New "Brony" Wallet Labeling

That sucks, but I'm not buying the Zecora anyway.  If they do a regular brushable, then I probably will, but that glow-in-the-dark plastic looks cheap.

I got mine for the 9.99 plus tax, then got  one for free on the buy 2 get 1 free that they had recently
I ended up selling that second one and the regular price on that one was 16.99 plus tax.
almost double the price , in ebay they are going for almost 40 dllrs !!!
same thing with the new Funko ponies !!
I'm a brony but I only collect brushables LOL so i guess I'm not a regular brony
I even have some  G3 ponies now
for me being a brony means that you are a fan of the show  MLP FIM
but I have seen every video I have found on youtube on the previous generations.

she is 20.99 where i live     luckily i got one during the buy one get one sale....   but i couldnt believe the asking price..  i would never have bought her had she not been free lol.

I bought her for 14.99 the other day but our high sales tax in the area hiked her up to 17 something...  Glad I managed to snag her before local management got the price increase memo!

Her price hike sickens me... TRU exclusives are the only ones who get hit, you notice! They don't increase the price of the regular brushables that you can also get at Target and Walmart, but for the special toys that can only be bought at TRU, they keep increasing the price because you can't go anywhere else to get it! >.<

When she first came out for $10 and I saw she was the same size as other brushables, I was like "...well, okay, since it's a one-time special kind of pony..." But there is no way I'm paying more than $10 for a single pony I buy in the store, I don't care what kind of exclusive she is!

The only reason I have her is because a kind person on the forum traded me for a pony with a $10 value. (Now I'm afraid to take her out of the box because it's a pretty box and she's valuable. )

@Sanadaookami: Your story is shocking! o.o I can't believe two guys would trail you around a store in hopes you would put something down so they could snatch it up, geez! What creepers!

Our TRU just got a whole pile of her for $16.99.  I'm glad I was able to snap her up at $9.99 (right after the first price hike, which I didn't know about - the website had her for $9.99 and they matched that price).
They also got the newest wave with Lyra and friends, the first time I've seen them in stores.

This is why I hate Toys R Us exclusives...X( (well, that whether closest TRU is an hour away). Hopefully the price will drop once the holidays are over.

In addition Christmas - prices always go up prior to the biggest sales period so that in the "sales" afterwards they are discounted down to what was the pre hike price.

yup! This time last year TRU did the same with some of the more popular monster high dolls, raising them from $25, to $29, to $35.

FAO Schwarz has Zecora available on their website and on eBay for $9.99. All of their other pony pricing seems to match the Toys R Us website but I guess they missed the memo on Zecora. They also have the Brony wallets and bags.

1. My local TRU stores have her at $14.99 or $16.99 recently (and the last one I went to had both labels up, right next to each other  )
2. I had a rain check placed when they were $9.99, so I got them at that price. $11 after taxes, see my trade/sale thread if you want.
3. Good call on fao.com, I hadn't seen that.

The website has a 1 per order limit. Their ebay store has no limit and she's $9.99 there as well.

In regards to the price hikes at Toys R Us.. A friend recently told me that Toys R Us is a company that is doing very poorly financially these days. She said she had even heard that toy makers would not issue them credit on the toys they sell, making them buy them first. Normally, the toy makers will ship out cases and then payment gets made at a later date.. But they won't do that for Toys R Us.

So Toys R Us has seen that the pony merch flys off the shelf, so they keep raising the price higher and higher. Their blind bags, for example, are $3 and change  when last I looked, compared to Wal Mart's $1.96 which has not changed.

I just wish the cool exclusives didn't go to Toys R Us. Anywhere else please!
