I'm really excited for this one.  I hadn't thought of putting prototypes and such on my own grail list, but there are so many exciting possibilities and I can't wait to start brainstorming!   

Just a quick question, to get the discussion started: What makes a particular pony a grail for you?  Obviously they are often more expensive/HTF; I know for me particular color combinations and poses are appealing.  I like a lot of Euro release ponies because they were a little more adventurous in colors and themes than were some of the US ponies.

Hmmmm, good question! My some of my grails are because they were a huge part of my childhood from the tv show I watched all the time ;D The others because I just love boy ponies and they're adorable! Or should I say handsome...? Lol And very much out of my price range currently. Lol xD

Truth to be told, I didn't really have any grails prior to signing up for this swap. However, I've always loved nirvana ponies, and I always wanted to collect them, so I just looked up nirvanas and listed ones that I liked. I based my choices entirely on color scheme.

Yeah, for me 'grail' is one I'm after but either can't afford or can't find one in a condition that matches my [high] collector-standard. But I agree with Panda and Raindrop! The UK/Nirvana ponies have such a unique colour-scheme and unique themes ... I couldn't put them all on my list unfortunately!

A grail to me is/are the pony(ies) I am curently most sought after, but for this swap, I didin't put any from my "need" list, I put grails from UK ponies and expensive ones that I figure I will never be able to afford. For example, if I hadn't already made myself one I would have put Nightlight(Nachtlicht) on my list.

My list consists of ones I also think would look GREAT in alternate poses. One of the number ones on my list is the Surprise Twins mommy. I think she'd look better as a regular pony anyway, since her mechanism in the real one, makes her look a lil bulky...

for me most of my grails are ponies i know ill never get my grubby little paws on either due to being prototypes or only 2 in existance, with the exception of brazilian baby lofty, who i didnt even know existed til like a year or so ago... id always lamented the fact that baby lofty only had a bbe version, and had decided that my first custom was gonna be a nbbe one... then i discovered it already existed and that kinda put me off making my own, at least not right out the gate. its hard to explain lol.

I picked my grails because they are ponies I really want but don't think I will ever be able to get, for the same reasons as a lot of other people- expensive, rare, or prototype.
