A platy is a live bearing fish that usually looks sorta similar to a swordtail-less swordtail fish.

we have a budgie  he's mine officially, but seeing i stil live with mum & dad he is referred to as being our budgie.  he's about six months old now, and we got him when he was about 7 weeks old from my good friend andy (who's a bird breeder)

and its totally unoriginal name i know, but he's called 'bodgit' and he's a lovely turquiose blue with white & grey wings, with the opaline color mutation.

AND HE TALKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   

i taught him to say
pretty boy
who's a pretty boy
who's a pretty birdie

he does kiss noises
he also wolf whistles 'whiiit-wheeel' and does a neat 'wheeel-al-whit' 


aaaannd he's adapted his own vacabulary to say
boy boy boy
whos a *whistle*
pretty pretty boy
pretty pretty pretty boy
pretty pretty pretty pretty boy
(you got the picture ) we've counted him saying 'pretty' six times now before he adds the word 'boy'

I never knew other people who rescued opossums! That is awesome! They fall off their mums all the time around where my folks live- poor guys- people think they are rats and try to kill them

That's awesome! I've had birds in the past but I could never successfully teach them to talk. I've always been amazed that some birds can be taught to do that.

We had a furry household up until this year. We had to say goodbye to our Aussie Shepherd/Pitbull Terrier mix - Pebbles (she was 14) and our beloved long haired calico kitty - Jubilee (she was an ancient 23!).

We have Lady (some sort of mutt) who is 12 and Toby (orange tabby cat) who is 14. I would like to get another cat, but we will see how that works out

I have an 8 year old orange tabby cat.  We adopted him from Petsmart when he was 13 weeks old.  He's my baby.
