I've been up and down with G4s...when they first came out, I wasn't fond of them at all.  I saw a few episodes of FiM, thought it was cute, and then got excited and bought a few G4s - if anything, I was mostly excited about the experience of going to a store to look for new ponies!  It brought back memories.

Although I thought that their accessories and the little animals were cute, I wasn't impressed with the ponies...they're so small and seem poorly made.  Long story short, I'm selling most of my G4s and am only hanging on to a few that I particularly like. :)

My bordom is more frustration.

Playsets = useless and cheap. I've seen better playsets with fakie ponies.

Ponies low quality one symbol midgets. Oh excuse me...not symbol, Cutie marks (ugg)

Re-release of same ponies over and over.

AND to top it all off they gave Shining Armor cheap troll hair.

Fakie ponies have better hair than him!!!

Probably doesn't own a stolen piece of the Taj Mahal.

I am still super crazy for G4 ponies, but it is hard to get excited for toys that are a) Same old 6 ponies over and over and b) the majority of the neat new ponies you actually do want are only available in the US.

I do love the latest set of ponies, (Cherry Berry, Lyra, etc), but all we have been seeing since is five billion blind bags, so-softs, and re-releases. I do hope they release more new characters in brushable form, because that is what keeps me excited.

I wish we could go back to the old days, like with wave 3. Wave 3 was an awesome wave  :).

Please Hasbro, remember your roots. More brushie brushie! I don't care where they come from... G3 inspired, show inspired, or completely new, I would buy and love them all.

I am not excited at all about the factory errors, and the play sets make me very sad. It reminds me of the play sets I had as a kid they were much better made and were more fun to play with.  Hearing that they are mostly cardboard now just makes me want to avoid this line.

Plastic is made from petroleum. Petroleum costs way more than it did in the 80s.

The same ponies have been on the shelf for just under a year now. I've almost stopped collecting because I can't afford shipping from the US.

yeah i've just been grabbing the new ones like lyra and trixie, but i  can't see the point in buying another pinkie pie or rarity just because the accessories are different. all i do is baggy up the accesorries and put them in a tub anyway. i have like 50 pinkie pies

Um, wouldn't that affect everyone? If that is true then it would be across the board affecting the quality of all toys, not just Hasbro.

Somehow I don't know if I agree it's the high cost of oil than is keeping hasbro from making new body molds or new characters or improve the quality of what they are already making.

One thing that makes me wonder whether it's wise to spend (much) money on G4 is how they will survive the next let's say 10 years. What will the plastic look like? Head and body mismatches are already normal today! This means it's going to be much worse as time goes by. What's the point of buying a collectible that is going to decay very quickly. :(
eeeeek i can so see regrind in twilight  sparkle and feather may in a couple of years. :(

also not wanting to sound negative but i dont see g4 surviving as a toy line for many years, maybe 5yrs at the max. not like the usual 10yr ish the other gens (not including G3.5) survived for.
i still want nightmare moon though and i still want to see sybmols/CM on both sides, its so cheap not having them on both sides, the cartoon characters have them on both side, hasbro really needs to put more effort in their toy line and stop being so lazy and cheap and i think a lot of us will be happy to go back and enjoy collecting them again

Someone should email Hasbro and be all like. "People are losing interest." See if they'll read it or not.

Yeah, I'm a huge pony buyer and I'm finding myself more fond of the vintage ponies than ones I'm seeing in stores...of course, buying a pony brand new and opening it to see literally ripped open ruined plastic has really turned me off to the line.

I have zero interest in the G4s. But I hope a lot of people love them, so make prices stay cheaper on eBay for the G1s ;)
