I don't have a toilet roll dispenser either - mine sits on top of the washing machine.  But if I had one, I'd prefer it to hang over.  The other way is wrong!

It has to be over the roll. If it is not I must change it immediately. I am tp OCD.

When I actually put it on the hanger, I put it over the top.  When I'm at work, sometimes I'll take the roll off the hanger and re-hang it with the paper going under the roll, just to mess with people.

  I'm too lazy to read 4 pages of comments about toilet paper, so I'm sorry if anyone's already said this:
Technically, over the roll is the "correct" way to do it, since when it's put on the other way, you can see the rough underside of the pattern, if there is one. So take that!!
  But really, that's a very silly thing to worry about for something that's going to be used as it is.

im a shameless over-the-roller... i regularly change my friends rolls if theyre an under-roller (its hillarious when they notice) and gasstations, restaurants, and stores whos TP i can crack open, beware! i will not sully my backside with their underrolled nonsense =P

We go with under the roll. Its harder for the cats to unravel it that way, thus less amusing. Half the time it ends up sitting on the sink or on the bar because we buy those mega rolls so they don't fit right away.

Sucks to be people where I work because our dispensers have keys to open them and I put it in whatever way I feel like, I don't even think about it. And let me tell you, I have the smallest bladder on earth. Its not unusual for me to pee every 2 hours. So with that I think I have the most right to say which way the roll goes over people who only pee twice a day. So take that .

I'm usually an "over the roll" kinda girl, but really I dont mind either way

We used to hang it CORRECTLY, over the roll for easy removal.  However now we have 2 kittens . . . and they discovered the toilet paper roll . . . and as such we now have to put it on underhand.  Which I hate,  But I hate them playing with the roll even more.
