I found something I'd been looking for a long time. Oldbies may remember this!!

I was thinking about Ye Olde Days of the MLP fandom, which I joined around 1997 or 1998, I think, and I started to think about all the fanfics I read.   It seemed like everyone back then had a story they wanted to tell, and it was fun to see them come to life.  I remember "Almost Royalty" by Cool Breeze . . . I looked on The Way Back Machine but couldn't find a copy of it there.  Daaang it!

Then I started getting nostalgic about HQT's (High Queen Tiffany--back in those days the fandom firmly believed that no two people could have the same exact pony-name or the woooorld would eeeend!) fanfics.  She was the first writer I came across who really did extensive world-building instead of just following the cartoon directly. 

"Wow, I wish I could still read those," I thought.  "What was the name about that one with the princesses?  Wait a minute . . . didn't I save a copy of that somewhere?"

Yes, I thought I had!  I'd saved it somewhere on my hard-drive--two computers ago, granted, but I DID usually copy everything over from my old hard drive.  BUT I COULD NOT REMEMBER THE NAAAAME OF THE FIC.   This made it IMPOSSIBLE to search for--at least, impossible to search for automatically.

My friends, I scoured through every vaguely-document related folder on my computer and after three hours I found . . .

THE CURSE OF BEAUTY 

Wow, what a nostalgia rush to be able to read this again!  It's just as funny as I remember, too!  Six princesses, all trying to win a prince's heart, and a book of "helpful" wishes . . .

I wanted to share this with everyone, especially anyone who might have read it back in the day.  (And if anyone saved the fic about Lord Dale and his many mishaps, please let me know because I don't have a copy of that one.)

See, this is what I hate about not getting back into the fandom pre-fim, I missed out on all of this cool fanfic stuff. Now all the pony fanfic sites are oversaturated with G4.
