need help/ advice

hi! so i've cleaned out my pony collections
and have a ton of ponies i'm either going to sell, trade or give to my niece.

these are ones i'm thinking of giving to my niece.

before i do any trading or even think of it. i want to know if you think any of these ponies are too "valuable" to give a 5 year old to play with.

just to let you know. she is very responsible with her toys. i "borrowed" her a rainbow dash of mine, (long story) and seh earnestly returned it in perfect condition 2 weeks later. which by then i had found a good reason to give it to her. (trying really hard not to spoil her.)

you're welcome to offer on them. there's only a few i'll flat out refuse for now. rest i wouldn't mind trading to get a different pony. must be of equal value etc.

Description- this pony is mint on the card. there is no plastic deterioration, but there is a slight crumpling on the top of the card. i left the original price tag and the sale tag in tact.

Description- This pony couldn't be better. there is no fraying on the cord connecting the bee and the hair is still soft and silky. there is a tiny scuff on one of the hooves, but that is all. i didn't try very hard to clean it off though.

Description-Has all the original crimp to the hair. only defect that i found is a bit of paint chipped out of right eye. (as seen in pictures) otherwise gorgeous.

Description- some of the hat symbols are not as crisp as others. no rubbing or scratches, just blurred. the hair is very dry at the ends and difficult to tame.

Description- flocking good overall. wear in common places, hooves, horn, etc. Tip of the tail is a little dry. rest is great.

Description- pretty bad shape. her tail was donated to a more deserving pony. her head and symbols are really crisp, but the variation of plastic has discolored, so now it look like a highlighter was used on the body. if she doesn't sell she'll get baited... or sent to my niece.

Description- aside from the braided tail (hair still soft), there is a very slight wear of the pearl on back right hoove. as seen in the picture.

Description- There is a slight pen smudge on the right flank. could be taken off with determined cleaning (not that determined though) otherwise excellent condition. the tail is still braided. because of the soft hair i chose not to wash it to remove the wave and left it braided.

Description- From what i can tell she doesn't change color anymore. and she had a mark on the front. haven't been able to get the head off to check inside. Haven't combed the hair all the way since its so fine and soft.... didn't want to pull any plugs. the floaty looks good, but there is some painted chipped off on the top. (pricing on this one is a total crap shoot... so yeah)

Description- body is perfect! this is a very slight white line in the left wing, but no crease or bend. the hair is braided, but not dry. there is something in the hair, but should easily wash out. (didn't want to wash because of the wings)

Honestly, it's tough to answer a question like that.  As a collector, I might say that a few of those ponies are "too valuable," (like the Sunshine or Summer Wing ponies), but at the end of the day they really are just toys.  If you love your niece and want to spoil her with MLPs, that is completely up to you.  What we collectors don't know won't hurt us.

Out of curiosity, if you do decide to sell any of these, where are you located?

i'm in minnesota usa. i have about 20 other ponies that i won't give her. some of the ponies... well aren't perfect in my mind anyway. and a few are definitely bait candidates.

i will keep that in mind. lady flutter is less than perfect (got a haircut from last owner).

I think generally if they are in good condition but not collector's condition, then I would let her play with them She will have a ball with them, and there is nothing she can do to them that can't be fixed down the road (even pen marks and hair cuts).

Lady Flutter and High Flyer are ponies that are on people's want lists!  I wouldn't let a child play with them due to their wings.

Are you looking to trade?  I would love to give them both a home:)

Yeah, I'd agree- I wouldn't give her Flutter Ponies just because of the wings- but the rest are, ultimately, toys! And none that so valuable that they should be kept from a child.

So I guess it's mostly up to you which you give her and which you keep to sell/trade~!
