I agree with hathorcat.  The easiest way to make sure you don't get  taken advantage of is to only deal with sellers who display all sides in pictures. or are more than happy to take more pictures of the pony when asked!

One thing that's really been bugging me lately on eBay is seeing lots listed as MLP lots that consist of one MLP (if that!) and ten various fakies. That's not an MLP lot, people. Don't pretend you don't remember buying those things at the dollar store. 

I've noticed that too!  Listed as "vintage MLP" and the lot is nothing but fakies.  Even the Goodwill auctions are more honest, and I don't expect them to know much about ponies!

I admit, I'll rescue ponies like that from the carboot/charity shops since I know I can either clean them up or pass them onto someone here for bait/restore. But when it comes to online I tend to be really picky, hence why I stick to here for most of my pony buying since most people on here provide pictures and really good info on the ponies they have for sale.
